Our Story

Established in 2004 by Chartered Chemist, Ray Simms, LABTEC has grown and earned a reputation for providing tailored analytical and formulation services to veterinary pharmaceutical, agricultural chemical and the timber preservation sectors, worldwide. In recent years, LABTEC’s offering has expanded to include methamphetamine contamination testing in dwellings, as well as gaining ISO 17025 IANZ Accreditation.

In 2017, we joined the Envirolab Group family under Envirolab Services (NZ) Ltd T/A LABTEC. Joining Envirolab has expanded our international presence and facilitated our continued growth and ability to deliver industry-leading scientific analysis.

LABTEC is member of the New Zealand Association of Consulting Laboratories and follows the NZACL Code of Ethics. The lab has been an active member for over 10 years and the Lab Manager, Nardene Reynolds, was appointed the President of the NZACL in 2023.

As part of our commitment to quality and continual improvement, we actively seek out appropriate inter-laboratory comparison programs and currently participate in those organised by the American Pesticide Control Officials (AAPCO) for agrichemical products and NMI for methamphetamine on wipes.

Operating in a modern, well equipped, laboratory facility based in Auckland's Central Suburb of Penrose, LABTEC is conveniently placed for Aucklanders and couriers to drop off samples.
